Federal Benefit Payments Switching to Direct Deposit

11/21/2012 - If you’re getting Social Security, VA or other federal benefits by paper check then you are required to switch to electronic payments by March 1, 2013.

The Treasury Department is phasing out paper check payments and requiring federal benefit recipients to get their money electronically. You can have your payments deposited directly to your North Island Credit Union account. Act now to get your money safely and quickly. You must switch to electronic payments by March 1, 2013.
At The Island, we're here to help.
Print out the Direct Deposit Switch Sheet.
And before you go online to make the switch, you'll want to gather together these five bits of information:

  1. Social Security number of the check recipient
  2. Check # of most recent benefit check
  3. Amount of most recent benefit check
  4. Account Number at North Island (Checking or Savings Account)
  5. Routing/ABA Number for North Island: 322281468

Once you have this information, you'll need to logon to www.godirect.org and follow the prompts to "Get Direct Deposit."
To help you easily switch to direct deposit, we've created a help sheet with the information you'll need to make this switch.
