When it comes to wedding gifts, a MatriMoneySM account is the perfect match: cash for newlyweds, convenience for guests, family and friends.

 
 

Cash gifts help offset wedding costs, pay for the honeymoon, collect for a down payment on a new home, or pay off student loans. This interest-bearing, fee-free savings account provides an elegant way for engaged couples to request cash consistent with wedding registries at retail stores.

How It Works

  • Couples about to be married may open a MatriMoneySM account with as little as $200 and at least 90 days prior to the wedding date.
  • We provide registry announcements - wallet-size cards that explain the program to bridal shower and wedding guests.
  • Wedding guests, family, and friends can make a gift deposit at any Island branch location or over the phone using their VISA® or MasterCard®
  • For guests who make a gift deposit, an attractive "Congratulations" card with gift information is provided to give to the couple.
  • Sending thank you notes is easy - once the wedding date has passed, the couple receives an account statement with a list of contributors
  • No withdrawals are allowed until after the wedding date.

  • Open a MatriMoneySM account by visiting any Island branch or calling (800) 848-5654 and with your VISA® or MasterCard® handy.
  • Have a wedding website? Add www.myisland.com/matrimoney to your gift registry list
  • Receive a special wedding gift from the Island. Here's how:
    1. Review our online Couples & Money tutorial with helpful tips about starting your financial life together
    2. Complete the Couples & Money Quiz
    3. Print out the certificate at the end of the quiz and present it it at any one of our branch locations

Make a gift deposit into a MatriMoneySM account by visiting any Island branch, calling (800) 848-5654, option 0 with your VISA® or MasterCard® handy, or mailing a check to:
