President and CEO

Michael J. Maslak has been with North Island Credit Union since 1987, and under his leadership the company has grown from a $300 million to $1.7 billion in asset size. His legacy at North Island is a people-focused culture built upon a sincere belief that employee loyalty plus member advocacy equals bottom line success. The results of Maslak's culture are evident with the credit union enjoying a world class 92% overall employee satisfaction level and a 96% overall member satisfaction rating.

Maslak has been honored with the Golden Achievement Award for his community service by the Boys and Girls Club of San Diego County and was named Credit Union Executives' Society (CUES) CEO of the Year in 2005.

He has served as a board member on the Chula Vista Chamber of Commerce, the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce, and the Chula Vista Veteran's Home. He has held numerous roles in the credit union system, including California Credit Union League Board of Directors, CUNA National Director, and member of the Government Relations Committees for both the CCUL and NAFCU. Currently Mike is the new chair of the California Council for Excellence.

Supervisory Committee

Our Supervisory Committee is comprised of volunteers elected from the membership. The committee is charged with protecting the members' interests and ensuring the assets of the credit union are safeguarded. These responsibilities are accomplished through an annual financial audit. Last year, McGladrey & Pullen, LLP, a national CPA firm with recognized expertise in the credit union industry, conducted our audit with favorable results and no actionable items.
