Kevin Parson
Records Specialist I, Records Department
The Island's December Employee of the Month is Kevin Parson, Records Specialist I in our Records Department. Kevin has been a valued member of the Island team since October 2001.
Kevin is called upon frequently to assist branches with member inquiries such as signature verifications, and turns these inquiries around in as little as five minutes, allowing branch employees to provide superior service to their members. He is reliable and dependable, and is always willing to go the extra mile to provide stellar service to both internal and external members. Kevin has even volunteered to assist other departments needing assistance when staffing issues have arisen, proving that he is a real team player!
Kevin's personal goal is to ensure that he has the knowledge and tools to complete his job successfully. His willingness to learn and proactive approach to obtaining information enables Kevin to handle all situations that come his way. With Kevin's "can-do" attitude, errors are rare and productivity is high. In fact, Kevin is one of Records' top producers of scanned documents, producing well over the department average and contributing to 31% of the department's scanned pages in 2008.
Kevin's supervisor calls him "an extremely valuable asset to the Island team" because of his dependability and superb work ethic. Because of this, we proudly award him this honor as The Island's December Employee of the Month.

Marc Torio
Online Service Specialist, Contact Center
Marc joined the Island team in October 2003, and has been a fundamental asset and loyal team member ever since.
Helping others is what Marc does best. He is tireless in his pursuit of service excellence, and is constantly looking for ways to better assist our members. Marc provides every member who reaches him with his undivided attention until their situation is resolved completely. He continually builds upon his extensive job knowledge by learning about our members' experiences, and ways he can better assist them in the future. He shares his findings with the online team so that they, too, are prepared to provide our members with top-notch service.
In his 5 years at the Island, Marc has received 2 perfect mystery shops and 17 notes of recognition from both members and employees commending his exceptional service. His service is held in high esteem by members and co-workers who need assistance.
Marc Torio is truly an advocate for our members and our online services. Because of his dedication and commitment to service excellence, The Island is pleased to honor him as our 2007 Employee of the Year.
