Maria Kent
The Island's June Employee of the Month is Maria Kent, DMV Specialist II in our Records/DMV Department. Maria has been a valued member of the Island team since November, 1988.
Maria's enthusiasm and commitment to quality drives her to excel at any task assigned to her. She can be counted on to go the extra mile to ensure that her internal and external members' needs are satisfied every time. This is evident by the numerous muggings she has received since joining the Island. Maria is the "go to" person not only for her team, but for the branches and departments which she so proudly serves. She is well-known for sharing her expertise, and for accepting additional assignments without hesitation.
Maria has an amazing ability to produce high work volumes while maintaining quality results. In fact, in 2007 alone, 5,060 member files crossed her desk! Recently she established a tracking system for all incoming member files to the DMV area. This process improvement has led to a reduction in re-work and a drastic 43% reduction in loans funded without titles, exceeding her goal by nearly 200%!

Marc Torio
North Island Credit Union's 2007 Employee of the Year honor goes to Marc Torio, Online Service Specialist in our Contact Center. Marc joined the Island team in October 2003, and has been a fundamental asset and loyal team member ever since.
Helping others is what Marc does best. He is tireless in his pursuit of service excellence, and is constantly looking for ways to better assist our members. Marc provides every member who reaches him with his undivided attention until their situation is resolved completely. He continually builds upon his extensive job knowledge by learning about our members' experiences, and ways he can better assist them in the future. He shares his findings with the online team so that they, too, are prepared to provide our members with top-notch service.
In his 5 years at the Island, Marc has received 2 perfect mystery shops and 17 notes of recognition from both members and employees commending his exceptional service. His service is held in high esteem by members and co-workers who need assistance.
Marc Torio is truly an advocate for our members and our online services. Because of his dedication and commitment to service excellence, The Island is pleased to honor him as our 2007 Employee of the Year.
